Pod2g iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak Released For iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 1, iPod Touch - by aby benedict

Folks, you read it right! Pod2g has just announced that his iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak has been released to the public. The jailbreak untethers all A4 devices running iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1. Pod2g gave the codes to both the iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team. Both the teams released the required tools for the untethered jailbreak.
The iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak works on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G, iPod touch 3G and the iPad 1. However, iPhone hacker pod2g is currently focusing on releasing a jailbreak that will work on A5 devices like the iPhone 4S and iPad 2:

@pod2g is now looking for a way to extend this to A5 devices.  Because those devices cannot use geohot’s limera1n exploit to inject the untether, they require exploits above and beyond those used for this release.  Keep following pod2g on twitter or his blog for any progress reports!
The iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team sites are currently down due to the huge traffic and hits they’re getting.
You can do the jailbreak either by Redsn0w or GreenPois0n. We’ll be back with full guides and videos necessary to show you how to do a real untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1 using the teams’ tools. Stay tuned.
UPDATE 1: Well, we’ve got our hands one redsn0w and greernpois0n tools. While we’re doing the guides, you can use the alternative method (only for jailbroken devices) by running “Corona 5.0.1 Untether” jailbreak tweak from Cydia.
