As this is not a major update, only those basebands which are unlockable with Ultrasnow can be unlocked. Below are the supported basebands:
- 01.59.00 (iPhone 4)
- 04.26.08 (iPhone 3GS)
- 05.11.07 (iPhone 3GS)
- 05.12.01 (iPhone 3GS)
- 05.13.04 (iPhone 3GS)
- 06.15.00 (iPhone 3GS)
Note: This will not support baseband 4.11.08 or 4.12.01

Guide To Unlock iPhone On iOS 5.1.1
STEP 1: If you have i-FunBox or DiskAid launch it.
STEP 2: Navigate to /private/var/root/Media.
STEP 3: Now create a folder called Cydia inside the “Media” folder.
STEP 4: Now inside the “Cydia” folder create another file called “AutoInstall” Folder.
STEP 5 Now inside the /private/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall copy Ultrasnow 1.2.5 file, MobileSubstrate, Ultrasnow fixer patch to that directory.
STEP 6: Now Reboot iPhone. As this only a tethered jailbreak exists you will need to boot tethered.
That’s it you will have successfully unlocked your iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.1.1.
